Hello, Small Talk, Goodbye. Hello Again!

Today has been spent taking care of annoying little errands, in preparation for tomorrow. Which I achieved, surprisingly, with immense efficiency. All went to plan. Big day tomorrow. I’ll give you a clue… starts with v, ends with ah. I and agra in the middle. A new batch is being delivered in the morning, hopefully. As I managed to take out my bundle of small tasks so well, I had plenty of time to notice small, innocuous, pointless, yet interesting little things. Wuu. Such as…

The wonder of small talk.

Yesterday, writing wise at least, was fairly productive. I must admit I felt invigorated having a project to get stuck into. As I bounced out of bed this morning, I had high hopes for another day of the same. These hopes were quickly dashed. Checking emails first thing in the morning might have to be cut out of my routine. First email was from my accountant. In case you might not know, technically speaking, I have my own translation company. A checkered past. If you need any documents translated from German to English, you now know who to come to. I specialize in gun manuals as well. Strange but true.

Dumb… Yes. Weird… ?

Something weird and dumb to start with. Something that might help someone someday to finish up with. I am aware that this story is quite dumb. I’m just wondering if the weird part is as weird to other people as it is to me? Earlier this evening, went to the gym. When I got out of my car, I noticed that there were two people in the car next to me. Two dudes, just sitting in the back seat of another car. Nobody in the front seats. However, at the time, I thought nothing of it. Into the gym, late enough so rushing through a few different exercises. Dead enough in there, yet I still ended up sharing a machine with one dude. Big huge Polish guy. Kind of looked like this…

Dolph

Wearing a similar outfit too.

Thankfully this morning, I bounced out of bed, spring back in my step. It seems that the pigs have definitely not got their grubby little mitts on me. The rash was only from the deep heat I used early, kind of thing. Very clever really. Seeing as I am so clever that it is kind of dumb, I realized a few things today. What a wonderful title I pulled out of the air! So clever, it is just dumb. Anyways, one of the things which I realized today, is that lately I have been over-analyzing things a tad too much. For example, the past few days I have been having issues with the blog. Now that I have the book deal sorted, I started to think it is vitally important that I keep writing the blog every day, so that I ensure that my habit of writing daily, keeps going. Which then led me to start off, as opposed to end, every day, wondering what I would write about that night. Which is completely and utterly dumb, stupid, idiotic… I could keep going. Deep Heat, I Swear

This weekend has been ridiculously productive. Some might say, I fended off a potential death, by battling a cold. Fun times in Ridgemont High! Usually when such a mundane event occurs, i.e you get the signs of a cold – blocked up, sneezing, lethargic and all that – you just plough on. Unless of course, you’re back in the days of going to school, when illnesses might somehow knock you out for longer than expected. No time for such blips now though. A few months ago, the best solution would have been one night of boozing, burn out the germs, and you’d be flying. Nicely hungover, but at least the cold would’ve been killed. Continue Reading »

Fun, Funds & Funk Me Pink

Today was a fun day of meetings up in Dubla. And by fun, I mean productive. On a quick side-ish note, not mainly today, but I’ve realized something which happens now and again to me during meetings. That is, I am not always fully, 100% aware of what point exactly a person might be making to me. Perhaps, the person making it actually doesn’t know themselves, but who knows. Anyways, the person might be telling me something, maybe gets bored half way through and then rambles off. I am looking at them enthusiastically, waiting for the big bang point, so I can respond. The point that doesn’t really come. A bit like a few of my new jokes for stand-up, the ones needing proper punch lines. In the end, I am just left looking enthusiastically/intensely at the person, who is in turn looking back at me, waiting to hear what I have to make about their point. The one I didn’t really get. So we end up just sitting there, for a brief awkward moment, looking at each other, not knowing who it is that is meant to be actually speaking next. Which is always fun!
